Things you need to know before applying for a PAN Card that was lost/stolen/damaged
You will be issued a PAN Card only if you have a PAN Card and it is lost/stolen/damaged.
You need to fill PAN Change request form to get a new PAN card.
The new PAN card will have the same PAN number except few changes in case you updated if any.
How to get new PAN Card if your PAN Card is lost/stolen/damaged?

Step 1
Go visit the official site of NSDL i.e., https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/
Step 2
Click on the link saying Applications for PAN through Online Services and in that click on the ‘Reprint of PAN card’.
Step 3
Now click on the link saying ‘Online Application for Changes or Correction in PAN Data (PAN Change Request Form)

Before going further, make certain to go through the guidelines and you have the facility to convert the text to Hindi if you prefer to read in Hindi.
Scroll down till the end of the page and you can find a category list where you can select the category to which you belong to.

Select the category of applicant from the drop down menu and click on select.

Read the form and fill the form with appropriate details. After filling the form, pay the fee of Rs.106 via a Demand Draft/Cheque/Credi Or Debit Card/Net Banking. If you are paying the fee through Demand Draft/Cheque then it should be in favor of ‘NSDL-PAN’ payable at Mumbai.
- In the slot that says ‘Permanent Account Number’ you need to enter your existing PAN number.
- Don’t check on any box in the left column (Point no.7 for address as it by default be checked as it is mandatory to update the address of applicant).
- Uncheck the boxes if any boxes are checked.
Step 7
After performing the above steps successfully, you will now receive an acknowledgment form with 16 digit acknowledgement number. Take a printout of this acknowledgment form and keep it safe.
Step 8
Attach 2 recent photographs of yourself if you are the applicant in the acknowledgement form in the space provided and jot down your signature in the box provided.

If you want to pay offline then enclose your demand draft or cheque, acknowledgment form and the self attested documents that were mentioned in the form in an envelope.
Step 10
Put the heading on the envelope as ‘Application for PAN CHANGE REQUEST – Acknowledgment Number’.

Make certain that the envelope that contains your application and necessary documents reach aforementioned NSDL address within 15 days after the acknowledgment.
